Mission 2.5+ (NAAC) launched

State project directorate, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) Manipur organised a launching programme of Mission 2.5+ (NAAC): Re-defining quality and standard of higher educational institutions of Manipur through NAAC accreditation - Mentorship approach cum one day workshop on sensitization of NAAC at the hall of GP Women's College, today.
Altogether 45 delegates from different Government and aided colleges took part in the programme.
Education Minister S Rajen Singh and Commissioner of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Manipur, M Harekrishna were the chief guest and president of the function respectively.
Speaking at the event, S Rajen stated that the grade point of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the majority of the colleges in Manipur range between 1.5 to 2, which is quite low, except Don Bosco Maram (3.01 to 3.25) which has been graded A.He sought support from all concerned to make sure all the 45 colleges of Manipur are accredited by NAAC so as to avail the benefits given by University Grants Commission to.
The Education Minister also urged all concerned to highlight the shortfalls in their respective colleges through the Director for discussion at a secretariat level.
