Imphal, September 18 2024:
As directed by National Medical Commission (NMC) in connection with the National Medical Register (NMR), Manipur Medical Council (MMC) has asked all heads of institutions, hospitals, and relevant authorities to start the process of registration on the NMR portal.
This matter is of utmost urgency and importance as several other critical steps are required in the process of operationalisation of National Medical Register, the MMC added in a circular issued September 12 .
The NMC's National Medical Register (NMR) portal was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare on August 23, this year.
This portal requires all allopathic doctors in India, including MBBS, MD, MS, and super-specialists, to re-register.
NMR is a comprehensive database for registered allopathic doctors in India, linked to Aadhaar ID for authenticity verification.
All MBBS doctors already on the Indian Medical Register (IMR) must register on the NMR portal.
Doctors need to prepare digital copies of their MBBS degree, state medical council registration certificate, and Aadhaar number.
Registration is initiated through the NMR portal.
Doctors can submit additional qualification and registration details through the NMR portal.
Verification involves state medical council and NMC.
Doctors can opt to join Healthcare Provider Registry, connecting them to the broader digital healthcare ecosystem.
This initiative aims to maintain an updated, electronic record of doctors' qualifications and enhance the integrity of medical practice in India.
The NMR portal, managed by the Apex Medical Commission, facilitates streamlined access for stakeholders like SMCs and educational institutions to verify applications.
Key features include adding qualifications, tracking applications, suspending licenses, issuing NMR ID cards, and digital doctor certificates.
