JAC rejects CM's statement, decides to resume cease work strike

Imphal, September 18 2015 :
Leaders of Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) headed by its president met the State Government representatives on Thursday.
The meeting held at the office chamber of Chief Minister O Ibobi discussed on the 28-Point Charter of Demands.
It was also attended by Deputy CM Gaikhangam, Principal Secretary (Finance) Dr Suresh Babu and the Secretary to CM N Ashokumar.
Secretary General of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO in a statement said that the Chief Minister during the meeting expressed his inability to clear all the due DA/DRs and other demands saying that adequate funds have not been released by the Central Government for the purpose.
Rejecting the CM's statement, the JAC said it will resume the cease work strike very shortly and appealed to all employees, workers and pensioners to fully prepare for a well organised agitation to achieve the legitimate demands at the earliest.
The statement also said that the time and date of the cease work strike will be decided in a meeting to be held on September 20 .
