AR conducts 15-days skill development training for youth

Assam Rifles in its continued efforts to empower local youth and promote self-reliance, successfully conducted a 15-day Skill Development Training in Carpentry, Masonry, and Plumbing under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme at Sehlon, Chandel District.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the training aimed to equip young individuals with essential skills, improving their job prospects to enable them to earn a sustainable livelihood.
Experienced instructors provided comprehensive training, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice to ensure participants gained confidence and expertise in their chosen trades.
The initiative not only enhanced their technical skills but also strengthened teamwork, discipline and a sense of community among the trainees.
During 15 day training the trainees were introduced with various techniques and methods to meet the requirements in the present environment.
They gained confidence and are more optimistic about their future and family life.
The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of President KCA Chandel, representatives of KIC and SDO office, Kuki Women Organisation President and village chiefs of Aibol Joupi, Sehlon, Tuitong, Kovang, Old Samtal and Hengkot villages, Chandel District.
The participants expressed their gratitude, acknowledging how the training had given them a new direction and valuable skills to secure employment and start independent ventures.
Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to community development, emphasizing that such programs will continue to uplift youth and create meaningful opportunities for their future.
