MPT, AMUCO,ICHAM appeal bandh sponsor

Manipur,Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee (MPT-CC), AMUCO and I CHAM have appealed the Highway bandh sponsor to give free passage to stranded students who are fleeing mainland Indian cities and metropolis fearing communal flare-up.
A statement issued by the spokesperson of MPTCC, RK Shivachandra appealed all concerned to provide the students at least a glass of water so that they could reach their respective homes safely.
Against the backdrop of threats, many students and professionals of the North East studying and working in.
mainland Indian cities have returned home for safety.
The statement said that many students have remained stranded at some places due to the bandh enforced by some organisations along the two NHs.
Since many of the students have spent their limited travelling budget on their way home, the MPTC appealed the concerned organisations sponsoring the bandh to give free passage to the students who are stranded and relax the bandh so that they reach their respective home safely.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has also urged the band sponsor to suspend the bandh in view of the present crisis faced by the North East students who are studying outside.
Lambasting the State Governments of the North Eastern States for their silence and seemingly 'insincere' approach to the i'ssue, AMUCO, in a separate state-merit urged the Central Government to take concrete measures to address the matter.
Stating that the crisis erupted due to lack of preventive measures taken by the Government in Assam, the statement warned of the occurrences of such incidents in the future.
At the same time, Information Centre for Hill Areas, Manipur (ICHAM) has also urged all concerned to lift bandh and blockade in the State in view of the crisis prevailing upon NE students outside the region while questioning the sincerity of the State and.

ICHAM president, N Rajendro contrasted the action of the Government which provided special train for deportation of NE people from mainland cities while on the other hand dismissing the crisis as rumour.
Questioning the security of the North East people, the ICHAM statement also wondered how far the denizens of the North East are expected to believe the assurance of the Government.
It also urged the State Government to arrange transportation for State students from Guwahati and Silchar to Imphal.
