Sit-in protest staged

Womenfolk staged a sit-in protest at Senjam Chirang community hall today against the imposition of President's Rule in Manipur and the alleged partisan attitude of the Indian Government.
Speaking by the sideline of the protest, Heikham Ongbi Ambrapati, a meira paibi from the area, accused the Centre of siding with the Kuki community and harbouring prejudices against the Meiteis.
She also questioned if the Indian Government has approved the rally organised by the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) on February 18 in Delhi and other areas of the State.
Referring to Saikot AC MLA Paolienlal Haokip's statement which roughly said that the demand for separate administration will remain unchanged even if a Kuki is made the Chief Minister, the meira paibi questioned the silence of the Indian Government on the matter and asked if it is harbouring any hidden agendas.
Speaking about the imposition of President's Rule, Ambrapati accused the Indian Government of backing Kukis and denounced the alleged prejudiced lens cast on Meiteis.
