Verdict on Ningshen today

Imphal, January 17 2014 : What if the court verdict is otherwise regarding the NSCN-IM leader 'lieutenant colonel' Hopson Ningshen's (Dr Kishan murder) case? .

The public meeting at Mapari Ningshingkol, Uripok Machin in Imphal on January 15 had voiced that capital punishment should be awarded to the accused.

The fate of Hopson Ningshen, a self-styled lieutenant colonel of NSCN-IM involved in the triple murder case of bureaucrat Dr Kishan and his two subordinates in 2009 will be known on January 18 .

The verdict of the case will be pronounced on January 18 by the Special CBI Court.

The CBI registered a case in connection with the triple murder of sub-divisional officer (SDO) of Kasom Khullen, Ukhrul district Dr Kishan and his two subordinate staff, Token, a Mandal, and driver Rajen after the case was handed over to the investigating agency on January 31, 2010.The final hearing and argument of the case has completed recently in the Special CBI Court after a three-year long trial.

SDO Dr Kishan and the two staff abducted by NSCN (IM) found hacked to death at Taphou along National Highway-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) on February 17, 2009 .

"We hope Hopson Ningshen will get harsher punishment for the brutal killing case," said the joint action committee (JAC) against the killing of Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen.
