Court frames charge for trial against accused wife and paramour

Imphal, November 16 2019:
Session Court, Imphal East, has framed charges against Khunjamayum Helen alias Thoi and her paramour Naosekpam Rabi, in connection with the brutal murder of one Khunjamayum Arun (Helen's husband) on April 24 this year, at Siphai Lou Bamon Kampu.
The order was announced today after it was kept on reserved following the hearing of the defense counsels and the APP of the State on November 6 concerning the charges levelled against the two individuals by the IO of Irilbung PS.
The accused wife and her paramour (who also happens to be a Pradhan) were produced before the Court for the announcement of the charge order, from Central Jail Imphal and Central Jail Sajiwa respectively and the Session Court framed charges against them and took cognizance for the trial.
It may be mentioned that the case records and charge sheet of the case were received by the Session Court from Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East, on August 8 .
The charge sheet was submitted before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East, in July after the investigation of the case and the same Court had taken cognizance of the charges before committing the case to Session Court, Imphal East.
Khunjamayum Helen alias Thoi (250 w/o (L) Arun of Bamon Kampu Makha Leikai and her paramour, Naosekpam Rabi (45) s/o (L) Nimai of Bamon Kampu Khabam (Pradhan of Bamon Kampu Gram Panchayat) have been lodged in judicial custody remand at Manipur Central Jail Imphal and Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa respectively from May 4 onward.
It may also be mentioned that Khujamayum Arun was found brutally murdered, some half kilometre from his residence at Siphai Lou in the morning of April 24, a day after he went out from his residence at night before.
