Imphal, February 16 2019: A golden jubilee celebration of Welfare Club (WFC) and an inaugural ceremony of its building in Tera Amudon Akham Leikai was held today.

The event was attended by Salai Holdings Private Limited chairman and managing director Narengbam Samarjit as the chief guest while Lainingthou Amudon Thougal Lup president L Mani, Welfare Club president A Muhindro, Social Scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram, member of Salai Holdings Private Limited Board of Directors and Impact TV chief editor Y Rupachandra also attended.

N Samarjit, while speaking at the event, stated that each locality has at least one club as it is a place where the locals can gather to discuss about development of the locality and problems as well.

Maintaining that clubs plays an important role in assisting or providing guidance for the welfare of the people residing in the area, he added that clubs can be considered as a representative body for the people.

Samarjit further stated that clubs also play vital role in organising events appropriate for the occasion including Yaoshang Sports adding that Salai Holdings will extend possible aid to the club in promoting traditional games of the State.

He went on to state that the pace of development in the State will progress efficiently if organisations like clubs, which are at the grassroots level, come and work together.

Samarjit appealed all to make a drug-free society for the present generation and the generations to come.
