Jiribam, February 16 2017: 40 Jiribam Assembly Constituency candidates including NEIDP candidate A Biren Singh, NPP candidate Habib Ali and independent candidate Jalal Uddin submitted their nomination papers today.

A total of seven candidates have submitted their nomination papers.

Senapati : Ten candidates from three constituencies have filed their nomination papers including 49/Tadubi, 47/ Karong today.

The candidates who submitted their nomination papers were K Raina (NPF), N Kaisii Mao (NPP), Thomas Hingba (LDF) and Dilungheing (LJP) and Henry Hiile (Congress) in Tadubi A/C .

Alexander Pao (NPF) , TK Savani (LJP), Theba Sanii (independent) and Veino Solomon (independent), R Yuh Jonathan (BJP) in Karong A/C .

In total, 16 candidates from Senapati district have filed their papers to contest in the upcoming election.

Tamenglong : BJP candidate Adim Pamei and LJP candidate Mathuipong Gonmei in 54 Nungba A/C, Tamenglong district have submitted their nomination papers.

A total of nine candidates have filed their nominations and the scrutiny of Tamenglong district would held on February 17 followed by withdrawal of candidature on February 20 .

The second round of training for presiding officer and polling officer for Tamenglong would be conducted on February 18 and 19 at Indoor Stadium, Tamenglong.

Thoubal : 44 candidates of Thoubal district including the Congress candidate Okram Ibobi Singh have submitted their nomination papers today.

Ukhrul : As the last day for filing nomination expired today, six candidates from Ukhrul district have submitted their nomination papers today.

In 43 Phungyar, NPF candidate K Leishiyo and independent candidate AS Hopingson, in 44 Ukhrul Constituency, Congress candidate Alfred Arthur Kangam and NPF candidate Samuel Risom and in 45 Chingai BJP candidate Sword Vashum and NPF candidate Khashim Vashum filed thier nomination papers.

Two Congress candidates and one BJP candidate who already filed their nominations on February 14 make a total of nine candidates altogether from Ukhrul district so far.
