AR trashes NSCN-IM's claims on border clashes

Imphal, September 15 2024: Assam Rifles on Sunday issued a strong rebuttal against the NSCN-IM's claim, and reported in the September 14 edition of this daily regarding clashes in the border areas between the outfit and KNA (B) and its allies.

In a statement, PRO IGAR (S), dismissed the claim as "unfounded and blatantly misleading", intending to tarnish the reputation of the security forces.

The PRO further clarified that the allegations published in the article that AR personnel collaborated with KNA(B) and ambushed NSCN(IM) personnel on September 3, in which four AR personnel were killed, were false.

"The Assam Rifles (AR), India s oldest paramilitary force, has a long-standing mandate to protect India's north eastern borders and operate within the constitutional framework.

Any insinuation of collaboration with KNA(B) is absolutely baseless and aims to malign the security forces," the AR added.
