Imphal, January 15 2020: All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has claimed that the press statement made by Thadou Students' Association (TSA) about hill contract teachers 2006 batch is 'incorrect and misleading' .

A press release issued by ATSUM also said that the statement was a ploy to sabotage the long-pending issue of contract teachers.

ATSUM along with its sister organizations and federating units are pursuing this issue for decade and a half and are hopeful of coming to a reasonable conclusion, it said and added that the accusation levelled by the organisation "that some hill based students' organization had collected money" should be clarified by revealing the name of person (s) and organisation (s) involved.

ATSUM and its sister organisations also appealed the State Government and the Education Department not to heed to such unsubstantiated charge unless properly investigated.
