Imphal, November 14 2019: Following the arrest of a main drug supplier operating in Kshetrigao area today, Imphal East SP Jogeshchandra Haobijam has announced that those involved in peddling drugs will not be spared in the war against drugs launched by the district police.

Speaking to media persons today evening at his conference hall, the SP said that acting on specific information regarding the presence of some major drug peddlers/smugglers/suppliers in Kshetrigao Naharup Thongkhong area, the district police launched a search operation.

During the operation, a main drug supplier operating in the area, identified as Md Shahajan alias Chaobi (38) s/o Md Abdul Rajak of Kshetri Bangoon Makha Leikai, was arrested and the police were able to recover 470 amphetamine Nitaks tablets, 7500 Spasmo Proxyvon capsules and a mobile phone from his possession.

The individual, along with the seized drugs, have been handed over to Porompat PS for taking up necessary action under ND&PS, the SP added.

He also informed that the district police have been trying to nab Md Shahajan for a long time and appealed the people to refrain from indulging in such all activities involving drugs.
