DLSA Chandel organises interaction programme

Chandel, June 13 2022: As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, District Legal Services Authority, Chandel under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) today organised an interaction programme on "Legal services to prisoners" at Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa.

RK Mohendro Singh, advocate and Tolen Potshangbam, advocate attended the programme as resource persons, said a release issued by DLSA Chandel.

During the event, resource persons interacted with inmates under the jurisdiction of DLSA Chandel currently housed in Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa.

The resource appraised the inmates about the functions of Legal Services Institutes in the State and Legal Clinics in Jail so that they may avail the services provided at Jail Legal Aid Clinics.

The inmates were also made aware of the basic Judicial process.

Ningthoukhongjan Bobo Meitei assisted in translating and sensitizing the inmates (Foreign National Prisoners) who participated in the said programme.

The main objective of the said programme was to sensitize the inmates and facilitate them in accessing free legal aid & services.
