4 URF cadres nabbed with weapons

Imphal, January 13 2015: Security forces today busted a hideout of United Revolutionary Front (URF) and arrested its four cadres, seizing arms and ammunition from them during a search operation at Old Leizang village in Senapati district early on Tuesday.

Police reports here said a combined team of Imphal West Police and 23 Assam Rifles conducted the search after they received a tip-off about the presence of URF militants in the area around 5:30 am.

Some of the militants managed to escape as the security forces reached the site but four of them were captured.

One M-16 rifle and one AK-56 rifle with magazines were recovered from the site.

The reports added that the search was continuing in the area to nab the other militants who had fled.
