AR honours bravehearts

A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was organized by Assam Rifles at Joupi to pay tribute to the bravehearts who laid down their lives fighting against the Chinese in 1965 at Sikkim.
This heartfelt event honoured the memory of seven courageous soldiers: Lieutenant M D Uniyal, Lance Naik Tika Ram, Rifleman Bhim Singh, Rifleman Dhan Singh, Rifleman Lachhan Singh, Rifleman Balbir Singh, and Rifleman Raghubir Singh Chhetri, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, said a release issued by the IGAR (South) .
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, JCOs, and jawans, all of whom paid their respects to the fallen heroes.
The wreath-laying ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers of Assam Rifles, said IGAR (S).
The Assam Rifles has a proud history of valour and sacrifice, and this ceremony was a tribute to the indomitable spirit of its bravehearts, added the IGAR (South) .
