55 new Covid-19 cases detected, one dies

Imphal, November 12 2021:
Day after registering a spike in the daily positivity rate, the state on Friday recorded one fatality and 55 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1907 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 2.88 per cent.
Thursday recorded 4.23 per cent positivity rate.
The lone fatality on Thursday was a first dose vaccinated resident of Imphal West district and it took the cumulative tally of death cases from Covid-19 in the state to 1942.Out of the 16 districts, only nine reported fresh Covid cases on Friday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 25 .
In terms of positivity rate, Kamjong district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 12.5 per cent while Thoubal district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.7 per cent.
Jiribam, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal districts did not report any new positive cases.
The active caseload rose to 790, out of which 61 (7.72 per cent) are in home isolation, 118 (14.94 per cent) in CCCs, and 158 (20 per cent) in hospitals while whereabouts of 453 patients (57.34 per cent) are not known as all the CHICs have been shut down.
Among the hospitalised patients, 42 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 29 are on oxygen support and nine on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 94 patients.
On the other hand, none of the patients in the CCCs are on oxygen support.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability but as of Thursday evening, 707 beds including 136 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals, 2559 beds in different Covid Care Centres and 463 beds (31 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 94,983 positive cases and 1568 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 652 new positive cases and 21 death cases out of which 382 new cases and 12 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 55 new positive cases include 51 people (24 male & 27 female) from among the general population and 4 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (9), JNIMS (8) and other testing centres (38).The positive eases from the general population are from Imphal East (18), Imphal West (23), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (2), Senapati (1), Kamjong (1) and Ukhrul (2) .
In the last 24 hours, 25 patients were discharged from home isolation (3), RIMS (1), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (15) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,383 (general population - 1,20,033 and CAPF personnel - 4,350) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,21,651 (general population - 117,322 and CAPF personnel - 4,329) and number of active cases is 790 (general population - 774 and CAPF personnel - 16) .
The recovery rate is 97.80 per cent.
A total of 260 D-type and 109 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas, 7135 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,58,004 including 7,82,291 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,436), Imphal East (27,564), Thoubal (9460), Churachandpur (10,163), Kangpokpi 2783), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9174), Senapati (2239), Ukhrul (2965), Kakching (6409), Chandel (2343), Noney (1069), Tengnoupal (1070), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (939) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (646), Imphal East (461), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (61), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (190), Senapati (10), Ukhrul 42), Kakching (112), Chandel (39), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,085 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,609 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,47,147 tests per million population against the national average of 4,44,109 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.56 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1907 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.88 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.96 per cent.
