Manipuri dance awareness campaign wraps up

Imphal, October 12 2024: The Manipuri dance awareness campaign came to a close today at North East English School Moirangpurel, Tinsid Road in Imphal East district.

The campaign was launched on August 19 under the theme "Role of Manipuri Dance in Our Society" and was a joint collaboration between Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts & Cultural Society (KIMACS), Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur, Government Dance College, Manipur University of Culture and JN Manipur Dance Academy.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by G Dharmadas Sharma, Deputy Director, Directorate of Art & Culture; Ningthoujam Ajitkumar, president, KIMACS as the functional president and RK Khogendra, Principal, North East English School Moirangpurel as the guest of honour.

Students showcased cultural programmes as a part of the event.

Meanwhile, many resource persons delivered detailed lectures on Manipuri dance.
