Social service, blood donation camp held prior to Aug 13

Ahead of the commemoration of brave hearts who fought the brtitish regime to safeguard the integrity of the motherland on August 13, KEDO and women vendors carried out a cleanliness drive at Sahid Minar Kangjeibung today.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the drive, Kanglei Economic Development Organisation (KEDO) president Soibam Maniton said that to remember the courageous freedom fighters of Manipur including Bir Tikendrajit, Pukhrambam Kajao who were hanged on August 13 for fighting and standing against the British and to observe the day successfully, the social service was taken up by members of KEDO along with women vendors.
Garbage lying around Sahid Minar were picked up and disposed properly while tree trunks were whitewashed as well.
In a separate incident, volunteers Educational Sport and Cultural Organisation (ESACO) in collaboration with staff of JNIMS hospital organised a blood donation camp with the theme "Athouba Singee Lamal oina Akhoina Angamba Kharadang".
11 members of ESACO along with four volunteers donated blood during the camp.
