Programme on Trade Union Rights and Human Rights

Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Manipur Branch organised a programme on trade union rights and human rights at the conference hall of Manipur Electricity Employees' Union, Keishampat today.
INTUC Manipur Branch President and MLA MK Preshow Shimray and INTUC Manipur Branch Working President and MLA Z Kikhonbou Newmai were the chief guest and president of the function.
Speaking at the occasion Z Kikhonbou Newmai observed that workers' rights must be protected understanding their contributions to the society.
MK Preshow Shimray while speaking at the function mentioned the significance of International Human Rights Day being observed on December 10 every year.
One must extend help and cooperation to another for harmonious living, he observed.
Central Board for Workers Education Regional Director MN Salam and INTUC Manipur Branch Senior Vice President Elangbam Dolendro spoke on the topics, 'Responsibility of State Government Employees' and 'Human Rights Obligations' respectively in the function.
