Sit-ins to push for ILP unabated

Imphal, August 10, 2014: Extending support to the ongoing demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State which is spearheaded by Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS), a sit-in-protest was staged jointly by Chaokhat Khongthang Lup, Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai and Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai Youth Organization at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai, Imphal West today.

Women folks of Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi Lamdong Leikai and Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai who came out in large number also staged sit-in-protest demanding enforcement of ILP system at Emoini Ema Keithel, Kwakeithel.

Similar sit-in protest demonstrations to exert pressure on the Government for implementation of ILP were witnessed at Keishamthong Kabui Khul; Brahmapur Bamon Leikai; Heirangoithong; Kwakeithel Bazar; Pishum Ningom Leirak; Mekola Bazar; Khurai Lai Wangma; Khurai Salanthong Nandeibam Leikai; Khurai Heikru Makhong ; Sangakpham; Mantripukhri; Kshetri Bangoon; Wangkhei Meihoubam Ground; Kongba Uchekon; Lamboihhongnangkhong; Thongju; Lilong Bazar; Heirok Bazar; Heirok Khunou Thongkhong; Heitupokpi; Nachou; Phubala and several other places.

A massive sit-in-protest was organized jointly by United Friends Library & Club and Lamboi Khongnangkhong Apunba Nupi Lup at Lamboi Khongnangkhong, Imphal West today.
