Two weeks certificate course in book publishing starts

National Book Trust, MHRD, Gol in association with Department of Commerce, MU kicked off a two weeks long certificate course in book publishing at the seminar hall of the Commerce Department, MU today.
Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar graced the function as the chief guest while National Book Trust, New Delhi Chairman Professor Govind Prasad Sharma attended as the guest of honour and Administrator/VC Manipur University Jarnail Singh as the president.
Dean, School of Social Sciences, MU Professor GP Prasain, National Book Trust, New Delhi Training in-charge Narendra Kumar and Department of Commerce, MU local course coordinator Professor Kh Tomba were also present at the inaugural function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dy CM Joykumar maintained that many valuable knowledge are gathered from several significant books to bring about unification of country or people.
On the other hand, publishers play important role in forming a bridge for public and the books written by great minds.
Although, there were minimum number of publishers in the past, book publishing has become a profession with the change of time, he added.
