Imphal, October 08 2015:
On the occasion of its Red Army's 39th raising day, the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREPAK-Pro) has on Thursday greeted the people, leaders of revolutionary groups, all underground cadres including those who had died and supported the revolutionary movement.
The outfit's chairman L Paliba M in a statement released on the occasion urged the communities of both the valley and hills to realize the adversity they had equally experienced in the past.
It insisted that the negative outlook of a few generations in Kangleipak was created by different faiths rooted in the history and it cannot be used as a political tool which could foment ethnic tension.
The PREPAK (PRO) leader stated that the Meetei group has become an incontrovertible and amalgamated community of Chingmi-Tammi (valley-hills) .
"The Meetei originated from the hills and we are all indigenous people of the land of Kangleipak.
Let's defend our land together and make Kangleipak a sovereign country," Paliba appealed.
Referring to the Naga Peace Accord signed between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) on August 3, 2015, the statement said this will be very unfortunate if the agreement turns out to be a tool to stir up ethnic tension in neighbouring Kangleipak.
Under the leadership of AZ Phizo, the Naga Plebiscite was held on May 16, 1951 and it was claimed that 99.9 percent of the Naga population favoured for Naga independence, the statement said.
It said a change in the Naga Plebiscite was witnessed in the general elections 2014 in which the Nagaland State recorded the highest turnout of over 87 percent voters.
The outfit claimed that it cannot be guaranteed that the Naga nationalism will not eventually immerse into the Indian nationalism in view of the protracted peace parley between NSCN (IM) and Government of India.
PREPAK (Pro) referred to the 'shared sovereignty' of Nagalim and India mentioned by NSCN (IM) leader Muivah and suggested him to join the sovereignty of Western South East Asia (WESEA) region instead.
The outfit's chairman vowed to keep to the direction given by the CorCom with utmost sincerity and to render support to the UNLFW, the conglomerate of underground groups of WESEA region.
