Imphal, February 08 2014 :
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has said that the people of Manipur should be cautious to avoid the upheaval once created by the BJP-led NDA Government in the State more than a decade ago.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of a one-day political convention organized by Tamenglong District Congress Committee at Noney in Tamenglong district today.
Gaikhangam further said that Manipur would again be in a state of turmoil if the BJP returns to power at the Centre.
They would not be concerned with the development of the State.
Votes to BJP would be a great loss to the State, he averred.
Deputy CM maintained that the State Government warmly welcomed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the State.
He had come to campaign for the BJP, but his election rally would not have any impact on the voters of the State, Gaikhangam said.
The political convention was attended by the Congress workers from all three assembly constituencies of Tamenglong district, namely Tamei, Nungba and Tamenglong.
