7 drivers with trucks missing

Imphal, February 08 2013:
At least seven trucks of Manipur along with their drivers plying along Imphal-Dimapur Road have been missing since the month of January this year.
H Kulamani, Secretary General of All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union informed media persons that the missing trucks and their drivers were coming from Guwahati to Imphal along NH-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) loaded with goods.
Some of the trucks were engaged in transportation of construction materials for the railway project.
He suspected that the trucks and their drivers may have been abducted by suspected armed Naga UG cadres in between Dimapur and Khuzuma.
Another FCI truck (NL01G/8914 ) loaded with sugar bags which had been reportedly hijacked by suspected armed Kuki militants from near Sapermeina bazaar along NH-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) on January 5 last, still remain traceless till today.
On the other hand, the identity of the truck driver and the handyman who were found dead in a jungle near Sakhaba village in Kohima on January 31 last have not yet been established and their bodies are lying at the mortuary of Christian Hospital, Kohima.
