Heirok murder case: JAC pledges sustained stir

A Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the brutal murder of a girl at Heirok Part-II has pledged to take up sustained agitation over the alleged rape and murder case on Sunday.
JAC will not claim the body until the demands are met by the State Government quickly, JAC advisor Mandir Laishram also told media persons at Manipur Press Club.
He said a public meeting was organized by the JAC in the morning where Heirok Part-II Pradhan and several local leaders were present.
The meeting demanded that all culprits in the brutal killing of the girl be booked by the Manipur Police Department within two days' time, he said.
The accused should be charge sheeted by the authorities concerned within 20 days and a special court should complete the trial within 25 days and give death penalty to them, the public meeting further demanded.
Post mortem was conducted on the body, but the JAC refused to claim it wants fulfillment of its demands first.
25-year-old girl was found brutally murdered at Amurei Macha Loukol, a paddy field, under Heirok police station in Thoubal district on Saturday morning.
Shortly after her body was found houses of three suspects were torched by angry locals.
The suspects in the case are Tekcham Yaima alias Tijen (24) Ningthoujam Bishworjit and Robinson, all residents of Wangjing Tekcham.
