NPP celebrates swearing in of Conrad K Sangma as CM of Meghalaya

National People Party (NPP) Manipur Unit, celebrated the swearing in of NPP National Party President as well as Lok Sabha MP, Conrad K Sangma, as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya and the formation of an NPP led Coalition Government in the said State.
Speaking to media persons at a simple celebration at the party's office yesterday, NPP State Unit president, Mangminlen Kipgen expressed contentment at the formation of a Government led by Conrad K Sangma in Meghalaya.
Pointing out that NPP was formed by former MLA, late L Ibomcha, as a regional party, the president said that NPP was created not only for the State of Manipur but for uniting all the States of the North East region.
He also claimed that a regional party like NPP coming to power in Meghalaya will result in better relation with the people as compared to other National parties.
NPP working president, Ajang Khongsai explained that NPP had almost vanished in the past and it began contesting in the election after getting registered to Election Commission of India again.
19 NPP candidates came out with flying colours in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Election and the party became the second largest party in the State, thus enabling it to form a coalition Government.
NPP was able to form the Government because of the people's trust in Conrad K Sangam and the party, he added.
