'Nadda to meet MLAs of other parties'

BJP national president JP Nadda, who is scheduled to visit the state on October 9 and 10, is likely to meet MLAs of other political parties as well as intending candidates in various assembly constituencies.
With the main objective of having a government of BJP alone after the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections by getting majority unlike the existing coalition government formed with other like - minded political parties including Independents, state BJP leaders have been working vigorously and even discussing in this regard with party's central leaders.
Chief minister N Biren too had repeatedly disclosed during public events that BJP would secure at least 40-45 seats in the 2022 polls and would form a government consisting of only BJP MLAs.
In view of this objective and the approaching elections, the upcoming visit of JP Nadda indeed will be a very crucial for the party.
When talked in this regard, BJP Manipur Pradesh leader N Nimbus told some media persons that Nadda's visit to the state has two key reasons and the first one being part of his trip to every state and meet leaders of BJP units after becoming the party's national president.
He had earlier planned to visit Manipur but it was postponed, Nimbus said, adding that party's policies and programmes relating to the upcoming assembly election will be discussed with the party president.
A core committee meeting, the highest policy making body of the party, will be held during JP Nadda's visit and the meeting will be attended by chief minister Biren, BJP state president and other senior leaders.
The core committee will chalk out policies and programmes during the meeting and the same will be translated into action by party's executives, Nimbus added.
According to Nimbus, the schedule of Nadda's visit to the state also include a se ries of meetings with MLAs of other political parties, private individuals and those aspiring to become party's candidates in 2022 election.
The core committee will decide whether those aspiring to be party's candidates may become party members or not and necessary further action in this regard will be executed by central leaders, he added.
Nimbus, however, did not disclose names of MLAs of other political parties aspiring to be party's candidates in the upcoming election and those individuals seeking BJP ticket.
Nimbus also said that JP Nadda will inaugurate BJP state office and three other offices of the party constructed in three districts.
JP Nadda will also have lunch at the residence of booth level president of the party.
