ZUF on offensive against NSCN (IM)

The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has clarified that the organisation as well as its armed wing Zeliangrong Tiger Force (ZTF) have been restraining from armed conflict with NSCN (IM) since the last gun fight which occurred on August 7 between the ZTF and NSCN (IM) cadres at Khumji Lukhambi-II where one NSCN (IM) cadre, namely Gaibung Kamei, Raja Pyeu was killed, considering the appeal made by the Zeliangrong people to avoid bloodshed among the Zeliangrong brothers.
However, the leadership of the NSCN (IM) is playing around with the Zeliangrong people by deputing only the Zeliangrong youth to fight their own Zeliangrong brothers.
As such, whenever any cadre of ZUF or NSCN (IM) are engaged in a gun fight, Zeliangrong lives are often lost.
A press release issued by the Home Secretary of ZUF, Jame Kamei today, conveyed that the negotiation between the Central Government and the NSCN (IM) has been going on for more than 20 years but as it has not come to any conclusion, the NSCN (IM), in their desperate bid to assert dominance and presence, went on the offensive at Khoupum valley and Luangreng (Nungnang) village on September 1.It added that innocent old aged people and responsible members of the Village Authority were beaten up black and blue, with some elders suffering bone fractures because they were not able to bring a pig for their (NSCN-IM) meal and on the charge of supporting the ZUF.
ZUF claimed that NSCN (IM), which is engaged in peace negotiation with the Central Government deserves the strongest condemnation for terrorising the innocent people and members of the Village Authority without even sparing the old and elderly persons.
It conveyed that many unrealistic promises and propaganda of NSCN (IM) once hypnotized the innocent Naga people in particular and some confused people in the Zeliangrong community in general, but the Naga and Zeliangrong people have now realized that NSCN (IM) is making fools of the people by repeating the same words which it has been making since the beginning regarding unrealistic promises just to accumulate wealth for the well being of the NSCN (IM) top level leaderships in the name of common Naga political movement.
The NSCN (IM) leaderships blamed and heaped serious charges on the past Naga political leaders who had rendered selfless service towards the Naga political cause and whose sacrifice, commitment and political achievement have now given some relief to fellow Naga brothers especially in Nagaland.
ZUF continued that NSCN (IM) has not brought anything positive for the Nagas and Zeliangrong people except bloodshed, particularly in Zeliangrong areas and in different Naga areas, without any political cause.
The NSCN (IM) has now turned the Naga political issue into a lucrative sector of business by imposing different type of taxes upon the people, it claimed and added that the common Naga and Zeliangrong people will suffer miserably in the days to come under the suppressive and notorious NSCN (IM) leaderships.
As such ZUF urged all the Zeliangrong cadres who are in NSCN (IM) to wake up, walk away and free themselves from the mischievous policy of the NSCN (IM) which do nothing for the common people other than bring bloodshed and more suffering.
It clarified that the gun fight which occurred at Luangreng (Nungnang) village on September 1, in which one ZUF cadre lost his life, should not be taken as a weakness of ZUF and added that ZUF and its armed wing Zeliangrong Tiger Force (ZTF) will continue to protect and safeguard the identity, land, life, natural resources and properties of Zeliangrong people at any cost and as such ZUF/ZTF is ready to face any kind of threat to defend the inherent rights of the Zeliangrong people.
