Funds for Depts failing to meet target to be curtailed

In a move to ensure proper utilization of funds by various government departments, the Finance Commission Cell of State Finance Department has notified to all departments to ensure a revised target of Revenue Receipts for the year 2012-13, failing which funds released under cheque drawal authority/letter of credit would be curtailed.
According to an official source from State Finance Department, the revised targets of Revenue Receipts for the year 2012-13 under each Major Head of Accounts have been furnished by the State Finance Department.
The grand total of the revised targets of Revenue Receipts for the year 2012-13 comes to Rs 71134.60 lakhs.
From this, a total of Rs 38583.60 lakhs are for Non-Tax Revenue and another Rs 32551.00 lakhs for Tax Revenue.
Joint Secretary (Finance), Government of Manipur, Dr Shailesh Kumar Chourasia has given necessary directive all the Heads of Departments; Deputy Commissioners and Treasury Officers and Sub Treasury Officers in this regard.
In a written statement, the Joint Secretary asked all concerned to ensure the revised targets for 2012-13 and warned that failure to achieve the targets may lead to curtailment of funds released under cheque drawal authority/letter of credit.
The statement also asked all concerned to furnish the revenue collection statement for each month to the Finance department by 10th of the following month positively.
