Fogging conducted at Sangaiyumpham

Troops of 33 Assam Rifles carried out fogging operations in the general area of Sangaiyumpham today as Dengue fever continues to be a significant public health concern in Manipur.
According to a statement, the village authorities and Muslim Students Development Organisation (MSDO) of Sangaiyumpham approached the 33 AR to carry out extensive fogging in the region to help prevent the local populace from the ill effects of Dengue.
The areas of Idgah in Sangaiyumpham, MSDO Main Office and Library, streets in the vicinity of Sangaiyumpham area, market area in Moirangpalli and Sangaiyumpham Part I were sanitized by the troops.
The initiative was carried out under the aegis of HQ 9 Sector and the local populace was of Sangaiyumpham with the help of MSDO, Sangaiyumpham was educated about preventive measures such as (a) Vector Control: Eliminating breeding sites for mosquitoes (eg standing water); (b) Personal Protection: Wearing protective clothing, applying insect repellents and (c) Surveillance: Monitoring cases, conducting regular health checks.
The MSDO volunteers also helped in aiding the villagers in the fogging exercise and extended gratitude to the 33 AR team for their immense contribution.
