Imphal, May 04 2020: In an unfortunate incident, one woman from Angtha Village which is under the jurisdiction of Yairipok Power Sub- Division, was electrocuted and several properties damaged, when a High Tension wire snapped and fell onto Low Tension wire, causing a short circuit.

Reportedly, the incident happened at around 1.30 pm today.

Several items, mostly electronic devices belonging to nearly 230 households under Angtha Mayai Leikai and Angtha Maning Leikai were damaged.

While, one woman namely Thiyam Romita Devi (30), W/o Thiyam Shanta Singh who was electrocuted was admitted to Yairipok CHC for treatment.

Later, the CHC preferred her to JNIMS, Imphal.

After the incident, representatives of Angtha and surrounding localities rushed to the spot, where the wire snapped and took stock of the situation.

One of the representatives, while urging the locals of Angtha Village not to panic, said that the disrupted wire will be fixed within two or three days.
