Imphal, January 04 2025:
Residents of Leibi and Kambang villages in Tengnoupal district, primarily inhabited by Maring community, have criticised the government for ignoring a vital road that was damaged due to landslides last year.
Rilram Area Maring Organisation (RAMO) chairman K Prakash Maring, expressed strong dissatisfaction with the state government, stating that it has ignored the plights of the eastern Maring areas under RAMO's jurisdiction.
He said that the renovation of the Sita to Rilram Centre via Kambang Khullen road was included in the relief and disaster management work programme, yet no tangible efforts have been made.

He also highlighted that another critical route, the Langkhongching to Kwatha village road, included in the Public Works Department's (PWD) work programme, remains neglected.
During last year's landslide, RAMO, along with local residents, initiated efforts to clear landslide debris, but the district administration has yet to fully reimburse the expenses incurred, he added.
Demanding immediate action, he warned that it would seek information through the Right to Information (RTI) Act if the authorities fail to address the issue promptly.
