Transporters appeals UNC to suspend blockade

Imphal, November 03 2015:
All Manipur Road Transport Driver and Motor Workers' Union (AMRTD&MWU) has appealed the United Naga Council (UNC) to suspend the ongoing 10-day economic blockade imposed along the State's national highways.
A press release signed by General Secretary of AMRTD&MWU M Anil Meetei also appealed the State Government to talk with the UNC and bring an immediate solution.
All the transporters, drivers and the handyman are facing difficulties due to the blockade and if the Government continues to remain silent, then drivers of all the vehicles including commercial and passenger vehicles will be forced to leave the steering, warned the release.
The press release further appealed the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to make arrangements for all the drivers and handymen, who are still stranded outside the State could come back home before the occasion of Ningol Chakouba and celebrate the festival with the sisters.
