Total shutdown continues at Sugnu

Thoubal, May 03 2019: Denouncing the failure of the State Government to serve punishment to the culprits who set the St Joseph Higher Secondary School on fire on the night of April 25 within the deadline given by the concerned JAC, locals of Sugnu launched a total shutdown in Sugnu area yesterday evening.

Local people came out in the streets to support the shutdown, which has affected the normal lives of the people, reports our correspondent.

One of the locals who took part in the protest expressed disappointment over the failure of the State Government in capturing the culprits and giving necessary punishment till date.

Shops and other business establishments in Sugnu Bazaar remained closed while locals, school authorities, students and their parents staged a sit in protest at Sugnu Bazaar.
