Thang-Ta Loisang celebrates its 4th foundation day

Thang-Ta Loisang, Sana Konung today celebrated its 4th foundation day with strict observation of SOP issued on account of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The foundation day function was graced by titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba as the chief guest along with Chongtham Raja Khwairak-pa, an official of Uttra and president of Thang-Ta Loisang, Ibohalbi Meitei as presidium members, a statement of Thang-Ta Loisang said.
The main highlight of the event was floral tributes being paid to the photos of late Thang-Ta gurus, it said.
Chungkham Sunilkumar of Thang-Ta Loisang, during the programme has stated that the loisang/institution was launched by the titular king who is now a Rajya Sabha MP, to help preserve Thang-Ta and heighten its popularity among the present and the upcoming generations, the statement continued.
Sunilkumar also sought support from all section of the society to help preserve the indigenous martial art form, it said.
The titular king also released a book of "Chatna Kanglon/Rules and Regulation" for the Thang-Ta Loisang and handed it to the officials of the loisang during the foundation day event, it continued.
The king also assured all possible help from his end to help the martial art form reach more height, it said.
Mutum Arunkumar who is the Ngamthang Thangsuhanba of the loisang was also feted with shawl during the event over his appointment as the "Laloi Hanjaba" of Konung, the statement continued.
