Installation ceremony of MWU held

Kakching, June 01 2013 : An Installation programme of the newly elected Office Bearers of Bujuur Shanuw Ruwrkheh (Moyon Women Union-MWU) was held at Thoma Memorial Hall, Kapaam Village in Chandel District today.

During the programme, R.Jindashing, President of Moyon Naga Council administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected seven Executive members, two members of Assembly Affairs, two Auditors, eight members of Writer cum Research Committee and five members of Project Committee of the Moyon Women Union, who have been elected for the tenure of 2013-2015 .

Among others, Cr.

Shining, N.Nani and Ng.

Malini have been elected President, Vice-President and Secretary General of the Union respectively for the tenure 2013-2015 .

While briefing the media persons on the sidelines of the installation programme, Cr.

Shining said that the most important priority of the newly elected Executives of the Union is to empower Moyon women through workshops and awareness programme in near future.

The Union would also celebrate its Diamond Jubilee in January, 2015 during which a Souvenir would be released to commemorate the event apart from organizing cultural exhibitions, indigenous games and cultural activities, etc.

The newly elected President also expressed sorrow over the untimely demise of Ngamvar Roel, MPS Retd.Deputy Commandant of Manipur Rifles, who was the first MPS among Moyon Tribe and also the lyricist of first Modern Love song in Moyon dialect.

Meanwhile, Chandel Naga Peoples Organisation (CNPO) and Moyon Naga Tribe have also condoled the demise of Ngamvar Roel and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
