Ukhrul girls missing

Ukhrul, February 01, 2013:
Two teenaged girls from Paorei village, Ukhrul, Awon (13 ) and Ayao (14) (Both the names have been changed) have been missing since January 16 at Ukhrul town.
The families of the two girls have lodged a complaint at the Ukhrul Police station and a case has been registered.
The two are cousin sisters.
Sources said that the two young girls were staying at the rented house of a friend in View land, Ukhrul and they were coaxed to go for an outing with the promise that necessary arrangements have been made for their merriments.
Incidentally a similar incident had occured on Nov 18 last year.
Back then, two young girls were kidnapped by Marian Zimik and her associates Nungpi village.
The matter had come out in the open and district organization and NGOs had taken serious note of the incident.
The accused were produced before the public for action.
Local social organizations and NGOs have been urged to be more vigilant and cooperate with the police in eradicating children and women trafficking in Ukhrul.
