Increased number of student enrollment in Govt schools noted

School Management Committee, Uyumpok Government Upper Primary School in Imphal East district organised a uniform distribution programme at Uyumpok community hall today.

Koknganbi Singh, president of the School Management Committee as president; Th Jadumani, DI School of Zone II; S Rajmohon, DI Zone II Porompat; Th Memcha Devi, Ward Member, Uyumpok Gram Panchayat and L Rajenkumar Singh, Headmaster, Uyumpok Government Upper Primary School as guests of honour.
Speaking at the occasion, Rajendro said that the distribution of school uniforms to the upper primary school having 150 students of Class I to VIII would encourage the students to study hard and maintain discipline when it comes to wearing proper school uniforms.
He gave credit to the School Management Committee and the teachers for working hard towards increasing the total number of students of the school from four to 150.He asserted that the increased number of student
enrollment in Government schools is a positive sign towards maintaining quality education in the State.
Unlike private schools which charge exorbitant admission fees in the name of quality education, Government schools offer free education, school
uniforms and mid-day meal to the students, he added.
Noting the close coordination between School Management Committees and Government schools, Rajendro said that free uniform distribution to the students of Government schools has also benefited many unemployed tailors and weavers.
