3 UG nabbed; ammunition recovered

Imphal, April 30 2015 :
Security Forces arrested three underground cadres including women during separate search operations held in Bishnupur District on Wednesday.
In a statement issued by PRO Police Department, RK Tutusana, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police Commandos and 12 Bihar Regiment conducted operation at Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai and nabbed one PREPAK cadre.
The apprehendee was identified as one Lourembam Sanjoy alias Mangangyaima alias Mangang (31), son of L Khutamcha of Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai.
On another operation, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police Commandos and 2/5 GR conducted a search operation at Toubul Mayai Leikai and arrested one active member of UNLF.
He was identified as one Sawaijam Bungo alias Khoiraba (38), son of late S Iboyaima of Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai presently stayed at Toubul Mayai Leikai.
In the follow-up action, a combined team of Bishupur Distict Police Commandos including Policewomen and 6 AR conducted search operation at Kumbi bazaar and arrested one active woman member of PREPAK (PRO) .
The apprehendee was identified as one Tongbram (N) Nongrakpam (O) Randhoni alias Ichan (40), wife of N Tombi Meitei of Wangoo Sandangkhong Cashar Tabi and seized 9 demand letters of PREPAK from her possession.
A case has been registered at Kumbi Police Station and investigation is going on.
On the other hand, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police Commando and 12 Bihar Regiment recovered ammunition at Kangmong Maning canal on April 27 .
According to a press statement issued by PRO Police Department RK Tutusana, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police Commandos and 12 Bihar Regiment (BR) conducted searched operation at Kangmong Maning Canal and saw two men from a distance near the canal in an suspicious manner and chased them.
However, they escaped from the spot taking the advantage of darkness.
But when the team searched near the canal culvert area and found freshly dug and covered up earth where the policemen recovered one packet wrapped in black polythene bag containing five numbers of Chinese hand grenades; 140 numbers of M-16 (5.56 calibres) live round and 49 numbers of AK-47 live rounds.
A case has been registered at Nambol Police Station and investigation is going on.
