Imphal, December 31 2018: Indo-Myanmar post level meetings were held between Assam Rifles and Myanmar Armyatvarious locations along the Indo Myanmar border.

The meeting for the month of December was conducted by Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Moreh.

The Indian delegation extended a warm welcome to the members of the Myanmar delegations.

In the opening remarks, Myanmar delegation thanked Assam Rifles for the cordial and exceptional welcome accorded to the Myanmar delegation.

Six officers from both the Armies attended the meeting where agenda points including unauthorized construction, actions needed to check the illegal activities, enhancement of information sharing and communication on either side of border were discussed at length.

Both sides noted with satisfaction the progress made in ensuring peace and tranquility along the porous Indo-Myanmar border.

In the Spirit of mutual friendship and cooperation, both sides attached great importance to the mutual friendly relation and expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude for the continued support of both the armies.
