Jiribam, December 30 2021: A team Of Jiribam police seized 599 cases of IMFL liquor from one truck bearing Assam registration number while checking vehicles at Leingangpokpi along National Highway-37, today.

Reportedly, the truck was driven by one Khundrakpam Bobo Singh (30), s/o Kh Tomba Singh of Moidangpok Maning Leikai.

The seized items include Tuborg beer-500 ml (2,400 cans), Kingfisher beer -500 ml (9576 cans), Blenders Pride-750 ml (360 bottles), Royal Stag-750 ml (600 bottles), Royal Stag-375 ml (480 bottles) and are worth around Rs 20 lakh as per the market price in Assam.

The driver has been handed over to Jiribam police along with the seized liquor.

Meanwhile, Kangpokpi police also seized 160 litres of DIC liquors from different areas of the district, today.

At least 130 litres of liquor were seized by Kangpokpi police along NH-2 while another 35 litres were seized during a drive.
