New Lambulane threatens agitation

New Labulane Welfare committee, Tribal Youth Club New Lambulane, All Tribal Women's Association New Lambulane and other local associations of New Lambulane threatened to agitate if the government fails to complete the construction work of the Tribal Market Complex at New Lambulane, Imphal East.
In a press meet held at New Lambulane, Thangmang Haokip, secretary New Lambulane Welfare Committee said that before starting the construction work of Ima Keithel complexes, the construction work of the tribal market complex began in 2004, but it is lying incomplete due to undisclosed reasons.
He said that Sonia Gandhi had already performed a symbolic inaugural ceremony of the tribal market complex on her visit to Manipur in 2010.On the eve of her visit a speedy progress was witnessed due to heavy pressure from the authorities but the work soon stopped after its inauguration.
He said, "We had requested the authorities again and again but in vain" .
Many works like public toilet construction, water storage, community hall, corridor flooring, drainage outlets, garbage projects etc are pending, so the concerned authority should speed up the works so as to be completed at the earliest.
If the government or the concerned authority does not respond positively then we the people of New Lambulane areas will agitate in different forms, he added.
