AR fetes newly commissioned officers

Assam Rifles on Saturday felicitated six newly commissioned officers from Manipur at a ceremony held at Mantripukhri Garrison.
The event was attended by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South), who interacted with the officers and their families.
According to a release issued by HQ IGAR (South), the newly commissioned officers included Lieutenant Kelvin Oinam, an alumnus of RIMC and NDA, commissioned into the Infantry; Lieutenant Gegerin Konsam, commissioned into Army Aviation, hails from a family with a background in civil service; Lieutenant Chongtham Bidyasagar Singh and Lieutenant Vivitto Irengbam, both commissioned into the Artillery, come from families with business backgrounds.
Assistant Commandant RNG Shungwar, commissioned into Assam Rifles, lost his father, a farmer, and Assistant Commandant Naorem Romendrajit Singh, who served with 14 Assam Rifles before being commissioned into 42 Assam Rifles, were also felicitated.
The ceremony celebrated the officers' achievements and recognised the support of their families, reinforcing Assam Rifles' commitment to fostering the region's youth and development.
