RDX seized, four held in Ukhrul

A troop of Assam Rifles seized packets of RDX and cordex wires from a truck bound for Ukhrul along the National Highway 150 at Phangrei Zero Point and four persons including a minor have been apprehended and handed over to police in this regard.
In an official report received on Monday, a troop of 41 Assam Rifles during a vehicle frisking at Phangrei Zero Point found 200 gram of RDX (three packets of premier) and 800 m of codex wires from a truck (NL07 A 4331) at around 3.30PM on Saturday.
The two sand-laden trucks dispatched from Chaudhury Enterprises, Khermahal Charali in Dimapur were delivering the goods in Ukhrul town via Jessami road.
The AR jawans found the explosive materials from behind the driver's seat, and handed over the seized explosives, four persons along with the vehicles to Ukhrul police station on Saturday.
In this connection, an FIR (15(7)2014) has been registered and three persons including two drivers and handyman have been detained in police custody.
The three accused have been identified as Dolay Chetri (39), son of late Gobind Chetry and Deepak Suna (19), son of Bir Bahadur Thapa, of Dimapur and Bikash Thapa (29), son of Ratna Bahadur Thapa, of Karbi Anglong, Assam.
A source from Assam Rifles stated the explosive materials were given by the owner of Chaudhury Enterprises in Dimapur.
