Blood donation camp held for cancer patients

A one day blood donation cum awareness camp was held at RMS and Shija Hospitals and Research Institute today on the foundation day of Helping Hands for People, Manipur in support of State Blood Cell, National Health Mission Manipur.
The blood donation camp was held in collaboration with Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS and Shija Blood bank.
Speaking to media persons K Loyalakpa Editor of Naharolgi Thoudang who is also the president of Helping Hands for People, Manipur said that on October 27, 1997 Helping Hands for People, Manipur was formed with the aim to provide blood to cancer patients and spread awareness.
The blood donation camp was held to provide blood to cancer patients especially to patients suffering blood cancer and those with kidney problems, said Loyalakpa and added that a large number of people have turned up to donate their blood for the needy patients.
Helping Hands of People, Manipur has been spreading awareness to the people from time to time through print and electronic media and on social networking sites such as Facebook and Whatsapp, he added.
He appealed the people of the State to extend their support and co-operation to Helping Hands for People Manipur for the better cause.
