Noney, January 27 2023: Denouncing the harassment of S K Adipou, former general secretary Land & Properties Owner Association (LPOA) at his residence in Konthoujam, Imphal West allegedly by an Imphal West Police Commando team, women folk of Longmai Area staged a sit-in protest at Treasure Valley Longmai Bazar, Noney District HQ today.

The Police Commando team allegedly took S K Adipou (67), s/o Late S K Poukingai without an Arrest Warrant from his residence at Konthoujam on January 19, 2023 and interrogated him while the vehicle carrying him was on the move.

Condemning the harassment of innocent public leaders without any reason, the protestors appealed to the authorities concerned to take up necessary action against the police personnel involved in the incident and clarify the reason for his arrest.

They further cautioned that the people of the Longmai area would launch a series of agitations if their demands were not fulfilled at the earliest.
