GKCA celebrates 11th foundation day

Imphal, September 26 2019: Guru Kulla Cultural Academy (GKCA) celebrated its 11th foundation day at Sangeet Kala Sangam Hall, Khurai Lamlong Bazar, Thursday.

MP Rajya Sabha Ksh Bhabananda Singh, Sahitya Bhusan Awardee, president GKCA Nimaicharan Singh and MLA Khurai AC L Shusindro attended the event as presidium members.

Guru Kulla Memorial Award was conferred on three artistes- Ashem Ningthemjao Singh (Nata Pung) of Khundrakpam, Okram Baruni Singh (Waree Leeba) of Pukhao and Ayekpam Inakhunba Singh (Shumang Leela) of Heingang.

As part of the celebration, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee (2019) Thangsabam Ashangbi Devi (Nata Sankritan), Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee (2019) Akham Laxmi Devi (Dance), Ustad Bishmilah Khan Awardee (2019) Manju Elangbam (Dance) and Ustad Bishmilah Khan Awardee (2019) Ahongsangbam Aneshwari Devi (Folk song) including Writer of the year 2019 Ksh Nimaicharan were also feted.

Speaking at the event as chief guest Ksh Bhabananda dwelt on the importance of promoting art and culture in A cassette "Ariba Tanjao" was also released.
