Imphal, March 26 2018: Congress spokesperson, Kh Debabrata has urged the DC, Bishnupur to arrange a discussion in connection with the no confidence motion issued against Kwakta Municipal Council chairperson Md Meheruddin.

Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhawan today, Kh Debabrata said that five out of nine members of the Council belong to Congress party while the remaining belong to BJP.

He mentioned that a special meeting was called on March 20 at Bishnupur Mini Secretariat, in connection with the no confidence motion against Md Meheruddin issued by a notification of the Bishnupur DC, Pawan Yadav on March 9.Claiming that the act of issuing an order cancelling the meeting on the day of the meeting itself, is against the rules, the Congress spokesperson said that the cancellation order of the meetingshould have been issued by me Councir s Executive Officer.

Debabrata demanded a discussion of the no confidence motion issued against Md Meheruddin and demanded the authority concerned to take up necessary actions against the said DC for resorting to unethical practices.

He further informed that necessary preparations have been made to complain to the law Court for necessary enquiry against the DC.

Md Meheruddin as well as other Councillors were also present at the meet.
