CCpur, November 25 2021:
JNV School, Churachandpur, which is situated at Tuinom, has been closed by Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur district on the charge of alleged fraudulent admission of students.
The students' body shut down the school around 12 noon Thursday, said Samuel Guite, information secretary KSO Churachandpur.
Samuel said that last year the school was closed for the same reason as 13 students were found admitted fraud ulently.
This year too, it was first found that 19 students were declared eligible to get admission to the school.
However, after a thorough investigation, it came to light that 33 students, in all, were allowed by the school for admission by violating the JNVST eligibility criteria.
The information secretary further said that the KSO has closed the school not because they are against anybody but just to ensure that the students get what is due to them fairly.
He continued that the KSO sent representation to the Zonal Officer Shillong, the chairman of the JNV who is the DC Churachandpur, and the Zonal Educational Officer, Churachandpur.
The KSO has been demanding transfer of three teachers involved in such fraudulent practices or to terminate them, otherwise the students' body will take up further course of action against the school which includes total closure of the school after the class and XII examinations, Samuel warned.
